We’ll remember Little Valeria Montero forever

By Published On: December 16, 2020

Almost 44 years ago, February 1977, our family adopted Calhoun County as our home. This past week proved we made the right choice.
Last Wednesday the worst kind of tragedy happened in Vardaman. A child lost her life and her brother was badly injured.
The outcome of hundreds of prayers for the family, the town and the county, the GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses for the son, the hugs and tears, just showed this is the best place to live.
No one is left alone in time of need, the outpouring of love and caring is the heart of the communities we have, so yes we made the best decision for our family those many years ago.

Please keep the Montero family in your prayers for comfort during this very difficult time.
I understand that the son, Luis Montero, was released from the hospital in Memphis and is recovering at home. Little Valeria Montero, now an Angel will be remembered forever.
Again, I am bringing up the seriousness of the Covid-19 virus in our state and county. Last week I reported the cases were 845, and in just one week we have gone up 62, yes 62 cases and number stands at 907.
If we were all doing our part, staying home when tested positive, or exposed, washing our hands when you have been out, wearing our mask, and keeping the 6 ft. distance maybe the numbers wouldn’t be going up so fast.

I work in a medical clinic and to enter the clinic ones must have on a mask, or I give them one.
Plus, we have a hand sanitizer station when entering the front door for anyone to use without having to touch it.
For home, I just get AG to stay in the Jeep when we must go to the store.
Please, everyone for your sake and others try to use more precautions.

No events to report on this week, all have been cancelled that I had heard about. Not much in the way of visiting going on either, so news will be shorter than usual.
Prayers for all the virus patients and others you may know of sick, or in need of prayers.
Ones I know of are Lynn Casey, in the hospital with the virus, Wonda Roach was to get home Monday from hospital, Penny Lucius was in a bad wreck, Harold Tallent, his brother James Tallent, Ann Whitt, Penny Nelson airlifted to a Memphis hospital, Mike and Diane Young both at home recovering, Waylon Logan, Lisa Norwood, Jimmy Coker, Shirley Herrod, Alan Murphree, Henry Lee Taylor, and Billy Doyle Alexander.
