We didn’t miss work with Doc Farmer

By Published On: February 24, 2021

Wow! What a week we have all had. Ice, then snow, then more ice and snow. Thankfully I didn’t lose my power and no burst pipes.
Our daughter in Crystal Springs lost power and water, only to get it back at week’s end. My friends in Phoenix, AZ talked with them asking how their weather was. Linda replied it had cooled down there to 66°.
I laughed saying would she like our temperatures down in the 20s and dropping even lower at night.
Wanda Keifer told me her oldest son, Dr. Andy Schoggin, was recently hired as Superintendent of the Clinton Public School District. Congratulations to him for this accomplishment in his work.
No events planned that I have found. Most are still online events. Perhaps after everyone gets their covid-19 vaccines and the weather gets warmer people will begin to plan things for us.
I know sitting inside the house all week isn’t making news. I have worked over 40 years in the medical community and have never known a clinic to be shut down a whole week.
Doc (Dr Farmer) use to tell us we could get to work because he had a 4 wheel drive. Back then Diane Harrison said she would come get me that she loved to ride in the mess.
For ones that are use to going up the Natchez Trace Parkway to Tupelo, it is still closed with their crews removing trees across the parkway. They are hoping with the warmer weather that the ice will be melting of it soon.
I found a number listed for them if you want to check before you try driving it and it is 800-305-7417. This information was taken from the Natchez Trace webpage on Sunday.
Someone had asked if it was open from Houston to Tupelo because the person drove it going to her work. It was suggested she find another route.
Not much in the way of news this week so will ask for prayers of the sick ones that I know of. I pray that the ones suffering from Covid-19 soon will recover and be able to be at home.
Others are Jimmy Coker, Alan Murphree, Ann Whitt, Billy Doyle Alexander, Mark Lucius, Henry Lee Taylor, Wilma Gibson, AG Gibson, Paul Griffin, and James Tedder.
Sympathy and prayers for the families of Allean Varnado-Lang, Donald Bell, and infant James Cooper Douglas Gregory. Please pray their families and friends have comfort during this difficult time.
