Bailey Memorial Methodist Church at Loyd will have their regular memorial service June 6 starting at 10:30 a.m.
Barbara Bailey asked me to be on program this year.
It was 50 years ago, June 6, 1971, when I first started attending this special event. Have only missed one year, in 1999, when I was recovering from heart surgery.
The event was canceled last year doe to the Covid-19.

May rainfall was about average with 6.05” received in our community. John Leachman recorded 6.1 at Lantrip. David Green had the same at Rocky Mount.
Record rainfall, according to my record, was 14.05” in ‘03. The driest May was 1.15” in ‘16.
The month of May was one of the coolest we can remember. Tupelo set a record May 29 for the lowest high temperatures.
My brother, Billy Fred, said this May reminded him of ‘81 when it was cool all through the month. However, when June arrived that year, it turned extremely hot.
Bro. Junior and Deloma Ritchie were visiting Sunday at Lantrip when he brought the morning message. He has been in the ministry for 58 years.
Steven Conlee was guest speaker Sunday at Poplar Springs.
Congratulations to Joel and Kayla on their recent marriage.
Sympathy to all bereaved including the families of Corinne Crocker, Vivian Massey and Betty Spratlin.
