AG and I had an uneventful week, thank goodness. At our age is it always good news when one can say that. We did take our usual weekend rides, but not near as far as we have in the past.
On October 6 the New Century Club will have their Fall Chicken Dinner. It will be a drive thru pick up from 4:30-6:30 PM at Calhoun City First Baptist Church. Plates will be $10 each and include half chicken, slaw, beans and bread. For tickets you can see a member of the New Century Club.

On October 10 there is to be a benefit for Mary Lee Ferguson. It will be a drive thru pick up from 4-6 PM at Vardaman Community Center. Plates for this event are $10 and will include pork, coleslaw and baked beans. Donations will be appreciated. The benefit is to help Mary Lee with medical expenses. She has been a caregiver and kept many of the Vardaman’s children and is loved by many.

I am glad to say son Joe and Amy had no damage to their home in Mobile from Hurricane Sally. They did say it was very intense and the next one coming toward them they will be heading North. Sally was the first hurricane either had ever experienced, so prayers were answered. Daughter Lisa in Tallahassee just received a lot of rain there and some wind, being on the east side of the eye.
Laura Laughlin attended the christening of her beautiful great-granddaughter, Farley Rhea Busby, at the First United Methodist Church in Eupora Sunday.

Please remember all of our friends, neighbors, and families who are going through health issues. This week that I know of that continue appreciating prayers are Harold Tallent who is still in ICU in Memphis; Jimmy Coker, Bro. Al Gaspard and wife Jeannie, Jackie Peden, Alan Murphree, Wayne McMahan, Teresa Hardin, Shirley Herrod, Wilma Gibson, Ann Whitt, Mary Lee Ferguson and Quay Wolfe.
Sympathy and prayers for the comfort of families and friends of Jimmy Dewayne Thompson, Warren, Ar. but has family in Calhoun County, and Jan Pryor Barber. Pray for comfort during this time.
