The town of Vardaman received a “face lift” last week and Highway 341 North received a “dressing up.”
Main Street both east and west sides were overlaid with coal mix last week.
Highway 341 North that was overlaid a few weeks ago received striping and reflectors over the six miles of road improvement.
The highway has been resurfaced a number of times through the years but this is the first time the final topping was smooth coal mix.
Willa Kay and I attended a singing June 26 at New Hope Baptist Church near Davis Lake.
Pam Gardner (Still Blessed) was guest singer. She did real well singing before the church that was about 70% capacity.
It was our first visit to that church since the death of cousin Corrine Bray Turner who lived next door to the church.
Also, had not visited that church since it changed from United Methodist to Baptist.
Lantrip is looking forward to Pam Gardner July 31 at 6 p.m.
Several family reunions are underway. The Davidson reunion was July 18. June Sexton from Lantrip attended.
The Ferguson family reunion was Sunday. The Barefields from Lantrip attended.
John Grayson was pianist at Lantrip Sunday in the absence of Nancy Barefield.
Farmers were very busy last week. One near my residence was still transplanting sweet potato plans past 10 p.m. one evening.
May all have a good July 4.
Reedys Chapel Baptist Church has revival set July 4-9. Weekday services 10:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Bro. Parish Hartley will be guest speaker. Bro. Chris Duncan is pastor.
