Derma-Vardaman News: Tharpe takes great trip across Georgia

By Published On: July 14, 2021

Had a good week but ended up Sunday afternoon with my finding out that my hard head isn’t as hard as concrete. Fell backwards and hammered the concrete with the back of my head.
Ended up in the ER but CT scan was clear so that was good. Just moderately severe contusion. Will have headaches for a while but all is okay. I won’t try out concrete any more if can help it.
Billy and Kathy Wells of Daloega, GA spent the weekend with Mary Sue Wells. They all enjoyed getting to visit together.

John Bryson Wells enjoyed spending the weekend at Orange Beach with his friends. Dana Wells, Kirk and Penny Nichols spent several days over the 4th of July in the RV at the beach in Fort Morgan, AL.
Laura Laughlin had David Laughlin of Madison spend July 4th with her.
Betsy Tharpe, Bridget Logan with son Lanson Cole just got back from a great trip. They began with stop in Jasper, Al. and went to see the Natural Bridge, next stop was Juliette, GA where the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed, other cities were to Savannah, GA where they enjoyed all the sights there–art galleries, museums, riverfront walkway, and best restaurant was Paula Deen’s Lady and Sons, from there to Tybee Island and Hilton Head, SC.
Their stay in Helen, GA was beautiful to see the mountains. Their balcony at the Helendorf Inn overlooked the Chattahoochee River.

Helen has a German theme. All the buildings are designed in Bavarian style, the restaurants offer foods such as brats, schweinshaxn and obatzda in a beer garden Munchner WeiBwurst. I was told there are several things to enjoy while there such as inner tube riding, zip lining, water park etc. Sounds like a wonderful trip any age would enjoy.
Eleven of us enjoyed getting together at the invitation of Don Keifer to help celebrate Wanda Keifer’s birthday. As always we enjoyed our group time with them. The servers at the Seafood Junction in Algoma sang happy birthday to Wanda.
Please remember our sick with prayers for comfort. We have so many now with cancer and other medical problems.
Sympathy to the family of Henry Lee Taylor. The family will appreciate any prayers for comfort and strength during this very difficult time. Henry Lee leaves many friends as well as a large family who will miss him dearly.
