DAR holds meeting at Shady Grove

Carolyn Bryant hosted the Loosa Schoona Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in the beautiful old chapel at Shady Grove Church.

Jennifer Nelson was the keynote speaker. Mrs. Nelson is the physical therapist at Reconnect on the Bruce square. She has worked with people of all ages to help them recover from all types of reasons that has made it difficult for them to walk or use their arms. The rehab gym is also open to the public who just needs to exercise to keep their health.

After the program. Regent Angie Newlin called the meeting to order. Bebe Maxwell led the chapter in prayer and Newlin led in the ritual. The ladies gave several minute reports and minutes and treasury reports were given. A drawing was held for the winner of the DAR quilt for which chances were sold. The winner was Charlotte Gann.

The next meeting will be September 13. The public is always invited.
Daughters attending the meeting were Mitzi Aron, Rita Stewart, Bebe Maxwell, Margie Chandler, Donna Baker, Carolyn Bryant, Angie Newlin, Rose Regis, Gwen Dudley, Ann Langston Plunk, Judy Carnaggio, Becky Thacker and Brenda Snellings.
