Great time with Betty; COVID is in Calhoun

Had a good, accident free past week. No ER visits so that made it a good week for sure. I had a 3 month check at the Urologic Clinic in Tupelo Tuesday but received a good report.
Thursday was another special evening. Betty Harrison from Houston and I ate together at No Way Joses. Betty and I use to eat once a month for years until AG got down to where I couldn’t leave him alone. It was so nice to visit with Betty, such a dear kind friend. We plan on doing that again soon.
JB Wells enjoyed spending the week at the Neshoba County Fair with the Lee family. They enjoyed visiting with the Trent Lott family.
Laura Laughlin enjoyed having grandson William Laughlin. He painted her house while he was here.

Lewis Memorial UMC in Calhoun City wants to spread the word that Ann Downing Ministries will be in concert August 29 beginning at 6 PM. So pass this along to your friends please.
This past Saturday, as hot as it was, my friend from Starkville came up to help tape a Pickleball court for us to play on. We taped the far court from the fence gate and I don’t think if both tennis courts are being used at the same time the tape would bother them. Only problem is when I went to check on it after church Sunday the heat had the tape loose in some areas. We did put the net up I bought to be sure it was all there and even volleyed a few balls ‘til the heat just got too much. As for marking the court off another way, I’m hoping for some suggestions, or the city board will approve us for a more permanent marking. If you have any suggestions, I’m open to them so just call me. If you leave a message I will return your calls. I just want another option for any age to enjoy a type sport that isn’t so hard on your body.
We in Calhoun County are getting more and more cases of Covid. Mask or not, vaccinate or not? I have had the 2 shots and glad I did. I wear my mask and use hand sanitizer. Yes, there are breakthrough cases, but for the largest percentage of covid cases, and those having to be admitted to the hospital, are the un-vaccinated.

My daughter Lisa Gavathas, Tallahassee, FL told me her husband, Dr. Gavathas came home from the hospital where he works one evening saying out of 70 admitted covid cases, 8 died in one night from it. This is some serious stuff out there, so please go back to taking precautions.
