Getting ready for Pickleball, come join

By Published On: July 8, 2021

Hope everyone had a fun but safe July 4th. We had two family birthdays over the past few days.
Our daughter Gale Terry, Crystal Springs, had hers July 2 and great-grandson Walker McGehee, Coldwater, had his July 4th. I always said from day one that we had our own special “firecracker.”
For those that have mentioned being interested in Pickleball to me, don’t give up, it is still in the works. Will be announcing a day and time for any and all to meet at the Calhoun City tennis courts before long.
After that I have someone that has said they will come and provide a clinic which will show us the game and rules etc. Be watching the paper for more information that is to be written up soon in the sports section.

Friday night I was invited to Algoma’s Seafood Junction by Don and Wanda Keifer. There were eight of us to join them and I enjoyed seeing all the regular group again.
We met at 6 to eat and the place was already packed with ones outside waiting. Thankfully Don always makes a reservation so no wait.
The Bruce Sawmill Festival is coming up the 9th and 10th. This is to be the 30th festival for the town. The music line-up begins on Friday night at 7 PM and more music will be on Saturday and Saturday night.
This festival is always a fun day with lots of food, music and vendors. So grab your chairs and enjoy the day. For more information or to book a vendor space you may call 662-983-2222.

Please continue praying for those you know are in need of prayers due to their having medical, or other, problems. Our county has really had our share of sick ones.
Sympathy to the family of Tommy L James Jr. Prayers for comfort to those that knew him and loved him. He will be missed by his many friends and family.
