Vardaman/Derma News – Canals and rivers need cleaning out
Had a better week to report. Went to Starkville planning on playing some Pickleball but the rain ended that plan.
Sunday I drove in pouring down rain on the way to church at Midway Baptist, but thankfully let up enough not to drown getting in the doorway. Not sure where all the rain we have had, and more to come, is going to end up but feel sure there is going to be more flooding. The canals and rivers need to be cleared out so water can drain out of our towns. They are so stopped up with debris all the water can do is back up into our towns.
Belated happy 50th wedding anniversary to Mike and Shirley Lucius. They celebrated the occasion with family and friends.
Another belated happy 50th wedding anniversary to White and Shirley Baker. They too celebrated this happy time with their family and friends.

There are so many fighting different medical battles and I know only some to add to the prayer list, but please remember all that are fighting the fight. Please remember Sheryl Fleming, Mary Sue Wells, Jimmy Coker, Calvin Barnett, Shirley Curtis, Jim Scarbrough, Annelle Scott, Henry Lee Taylor, Jeanne Gaspard, Ann Whitt, Alan Murphree, Wilma Gibson, and Richard Haire, I understand has gotten a good report on his cancer.
Our sympathy and prayers go out to the family and friends of James Thomas Tedder who passed away at his home in Grenada, Betty Jane Spratlin, Corrinne Crocker, and Mary Jane Crutchfield whose services were June 1st.
