Learned recently of the January 23 death of Bro. George Stewart, 85, of Pontotoc.
He was a Southern Baptist minister for 63 years and was pastor of several churches. He served as mission director for Pontotoc County Baptist Association for 24 years.
Rainfall in January was below normal. At my residence, only 1.5” of rain and 1.5” of snow was recorded. (It is possible I failed to log all rainfall.)
David Green had 2.9” at Rocky Mount and 2” of snow.
John Leachman recorded 3.2” of rain and snow at Lantrip.
Record for January was 9.4” in ‘02 and 1.85” in ‘14.
At least two Januarys in the past 21 years have witnessed at least 6” of snow, 2000 and 2011.
Sympathy to all bereaved including, as of Sunday afternoon, the families of Dewey Orr, Steve Harmon, Tina Clanton (talked with Don Sanderson Sunday about Clanton).
She was at DHS in Pittsboro when we were there), Inis Roane (the oldest and one of the most faithful to attend services at BCLC when Judy Starks, Joe and Norma Tallent and I were there.)
Special prayer requests Sunday at church for Winnie Hawk, Martha Bailey, Earl Spratlin and Buck Langford.
