Roger Hodnett of Vardaman lost most of his 2020 scuppernong crop to birds and squirrels.

His vines have been high yielders for many years but only a few were left on the vines when I stopped last week.
He has been told if creatures store an overabundance of food during the summer and fall, a severe winter is forecast.
The 50 years ago baptism that Lantrip had at Mt. Moriah, according to June Sexton, included her from Mt. Moriah and Bobby Sexton from Lantrip.
June and Bobby were married at Mt. Moriah Saturday evening, June 19, 1971.

They were happily married until his sudden death in January of 2015. He was 61.
Plans are to start back Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. starting September 6 at Lantrip.
Started back at Lantrip Sunday observing the Lord’s supper. It had been some time since the ordinance was administered.

Thanks to Kathy Poynor who prepared the bread. It was placed and passed in separate boxes.
Gave up trying to keep coons off the grapevines. They ate many of them while green. Almost a crop failure this year
Did raise a few watermelons. They were planted in the lawn near my home and Sherry White’s.

Did not receive much extra rain last week from the hurricane. Received slightly over one inch at my residence.
Sympathy to all bereaved including Martha Dickson, Mallon Henry and Jim Lucius families.

I attended Lighthouse Baptist Church Wednesday and Sunday, Bro. Bray delivered wonderful messages both times, speaking from Acts and Matthew. No matter what, God is in control!

Regret the death of a wonderful Christian man, Mallon Henry. He told me about the horror of WWII. Thanks to our military for their part in saving the world!
