Three adults were arrested after a drug sale turned into a shooting east of Bruce Friday night.
No one was injured in the incident which occurred near the intersection of Hwy 32 and 341 just north of the Corner Gro. around 7:30 p.m.
Arrested were:
•Ethan Sherrill, 17, of Houlka, charged with aggravated assault.
•Michael Eaton, 22, of Pontotoc, charged with conspiring to commit a crime and aggravated assault.
•Jarrel Alexander, 19, Houlka, charged with armed robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to Deputy Dewyane Winter, Sherrill, Eaton and a juvenile, all living in Chickasaw County, came to the area for a drug deal.
Alexander had called them to come and get marijuana, but his intent was to rob them, Winter said.
When he arrived Sherrill got out and walked with Alexander behind some hay bales and old equipment. The juvenile with Alexander, who was walking behind them, pulled a gun and told Sherrill to give him the money.
Sherrill started to run and the juvenile pointed a 25 automatic and it "snapped" twice (not firing).
He ran to the car where Eaton and another juvenile were waiting and as they drove off, Sherrill fired five shots with a 38, Winter said.
Winter said he thinks one group came to steal the drugs and the other group came to steal the money. All three have been released on bond.
Deputy Winter praised Deputy Byron Talford and Bruce police office Phillip Talford for their assistance in the event.
In another matter, a warrant has been issued for a Sardis man in connection with a home burglary in Banner.
The home of Leonard Poynor, 7 CR 267, Banner, was reported broken into Monday night where jewelry and cash were taken.
Deputy Winter said two pieces of the jewelry were found at Dash for Cash in Oxford.
The warrant is for Bobby Joe Wilkerson, age 30, of 521 CR 96 in Sardis. He will be charged with burglary of a dwelling. Winter said he is also a suspect in other burglaries in that area.
