A Houlka man was robbed at his home last Thursday night, and law enforcement officials said they have a suspect.
Dan Hardin, CR 177, Houlka, suffered a cut on his head when someone entered his home Thursday night, Nov. 13.
Deputy Dewyane Winter said that Hardin answered a knock at his door when he was overtaken. Hardin said there was one black male, but possibly another with him. Winter said a 47" plasma TV was taken from Hardin's home.
The TV was recovered two days later at a home in Vardaman.
Winter said a tip led them to a residence on Walton St. where they went with a search warrant Saturday afternoon.
Jerry Mims, Jr., who lives at the home, was arrested along with two others there who were in front of the home when they arrived. Winter said Mims had several rocks of crack cocaine and marijuana. They also found a small bag of marijuana inside the house, along with the stolen TV.
According to Winter, Mims was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell and child endangerment. Two children were at the home at the time of the arrest.
Mims was released on $100,000 bond Monday night.
Also arrested were Jason Mims and Jarvis Pratt, both of Vardaman, for possession of beer.
