Gladney questions district policy in talk to school board

Marcus Gladney, who was denied an opportunity to teach in the school district on a 3-2 vote by the school board last month, addressed his concerns in a presentation to the board Monday night in Pittsboro.
Gladney said he went through the process to be re-certified with the state and when he applied for the fifth grade language arts opening at Calhoun City Middle School, nothing was said to him about not being eligible based on district policy until the school board rejected him after he was presented for hire by Principal Stacia Parker.
