Gabbert Qualifies For Derma Mayor’s Race

Derma Mayor Dock Gabbert was one of four new qualifiers last week for the upcoming municipal elections.

Derma Mayor Dock Gabbert officially qualified to seek re-election last week.
Gabbert is seeking an 11th term as the town’s leader at City Hall. He was first elected mayor in 1969. Gabbert is only the second mayoral candidate to qualify thus far in the county. J.R. Denton, of Calhoun City, is the other. There are three new qualifiers in the county for alderman positions. They are Larry Bratton in Calhoun City, Keith Thacker in Pittsboro, and James Scarbrough in Derma.
The deadline to qualify is Friday, March 6. The first primary is May 5.
