Calhoun inmate not seriously injured after cutting own wrists

A female inmate at Calhoun County Jail was transported to the hospital for stitches after cutting her wrists today.

Misty Arrington, 29, of Big Creek, was released from the hospital and then picked up by Mississippi Department of Corrections.
According to Sheriff Billy Mac Gore, Arrington took apart a jail-issued razor and made cuts on both wrists. She was transported by ambulance to Calhoun Health Services in Calhoun City.
"The razors are designed not to cut deep, but she managed to cut herself pretty good," he said.
Arrington was arrested Sunday for violation of probation. She had been under house arrest, and had removed the MDOC issued bracelet.
