Brown named 2A Player of the Year; Bruce, ‘City players earn All State

Bruce Trojan quarterback Davis Brown was recently named the Class 2A Player of the Year for the 2012 football season.

Brown, a 6'3" 195-pound senior, completed 63% of his passes (177-283) for 2,933 yards, 36 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Brown's favorite target, Shaq Bush, earned 2nd team All State at wide receiver. He finished the season with 63 catches for 978 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Trojans placed three players on the first team defense – DT Girraud Mingo, LB Jonathan Bobo and safety Rashad Turner.

Bruce DE Deshawn Tillman earned All State second team defense. Donta Armstrong earned the same honor at cornerback.

Calhoun City's KarDevin Thomas and safety Lavarious Varnado were both named to the All State 2nd team defense.
