Baskin Joins District One School Board Race

Reginald Baskin, of Bruce, officially became the second qualifier for the school board race in District One last week.

Baskin joins Antoinette Goins, of Calhoun City, in the race to succeed Bozzie Edwards on the school board. Edwards has said he has no intentions of seeking re-election.
The number of candidates could still grow larger this week as the circuit clerk’s office in Pittsboro reported several additional people have picked up qualifying papers for both districts one and two.
Incumbent Danny Harrelson, of Bruce, thus far remains the only official qualifer in district two.
This Friday, Sept. 3 is the deadline to qualify. The election is Tuesday, Nov. 2.
